What is Digital Ehon Award？
Digital Ehon Award is Since a digital book appeared as a new way of pubulishing, there have been many digital books with their own originalities even in Japan like othre countries. A picture book, may be the first book we read in, is not an exception to that.
We hope a "Ehon(a picture book in Japanese)", which can give children dream, stir their imaginations, and enrich our real world, can be "Digital Ehon" that can attract chilfren even more in digital field as well.
This Award has established as a related project of "Digital Children's Book Fair" and aims to pioneer and develop the new way of expression of "Digital Ehon".
What can be done to help poor children to give them a better future?
Helping others to give them a better future is easier than you think. You can donate your knowledge by teaching poor kids, you can donate your old clothes, you can donate food or you can share a meal with a hungry child. You can decide where your heart wants to start!
We want to start by sharing a story.
Because sharing a bit of ourselves by opening a window into our own world is a good place to begin. Do you remember the moments you completely lost yourself in storybooks, fairytales and adventure books during your childhood? Many still have their favorite book as one of the most cherished items on a bookshelf and don’t anyone dare to take it or throw it away!
Because fairytales boosted our imagination when we were young. They often include different cultures and ways of doing things. They teach us about cultural differences in the world outside our own gifting us a curiosity to learn new things and experience new places. It made us dream away and we could be heroes!
Think about what the benefits of reading will be for children living in poverty, where books are rare or not exciting at all. Reading will improve their vocabulary and enhance verbal communication and understanding.
What do we want to share?
Stories of Kye is a non-profit organization that wants to help to make a difference. We donate our time, our creativity, and our savings in the releases of our eBook stories and iPad apps. We want to make people aware that buying books or learning to read is a given for a very small portion of our population. Many children all over the world will never posses a book or be taught how to read.
We are looking to help local organizations. We search them with care. We have met with Mrs. Arundhati from AA Booktrust (www.aabooktrust.org) in May this year. She talked about their organization and it’s needs. We discussed the possibility to donate 2400 copies (paperback) of each of the three books of Stories of Kye that are currently released as eBook to poor kids in India. The AA booktrust organization will voluntarily translate the three books into Hindu.
However the children in Shitala aren’t just eager for new books but they also want to learn, so we discussed if there could be a possibility to donate a few weeks of our lives to travel to Shitala to help with activities like reading and teaching them how to paint/draw.
The proceeds of Stories of Kye are however not sufficient yet to even start this project. We are therefore looking into all kinds of possibilities to make the world aware that the eBooks and iPad apps of Stories of Kye have been published and can be found in most online eBook and iTunes stores at only 0.99 cents! By buying an app or eBook you contribute in helping poor children read, grow and dream!
Recognizing that poverty is a global issue and that children all over the world deserve a future this is our first step in the right direction. We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.
Thank you for taking the time for reading this. We hope you will share this among your friends.

Stories of Kye
Stories of Kye is looking into the possibility to create a foundation to support projects for children in poor parts of the world. We are currently working on our first project in India. We are very exited about it. We will keep you updated on any progress. It takes time and effort but we will reach the other shore! Nothing will stop us.
Kye and the Man in the Moon.
Before we release 'Kye and the Magic Ball",we decided to reveal that Kye's booths don't only keep him from getting ill but also have magic power! Watch out for "Kye and the Man in the Moon" and you will learn what the boots are capable off.
Today we received some lovely pictures from an Indonesian preschool. How nice would it be if we could buy real books for these children. We cannot do this without your help. Please support Stories of Kye by buying the Apps and the books.
