Last week i attended an SCBWI-NL Storyboarding workshop. Now you might think what does that have to do with book reviews.
Well I tell you:
We were placed in groups of 2 - 3 persons. we all received the same text which was printed on 2 A4
We were requested to create a picture book: cut the text, place it over the 32 pages and "illustrate" with pictures that comes to mind.
The text was beautiful but very challenging.
First of all: how do you illustrate an "Idea".... it is so "abstract concept"! Second its a picture book so it must be :understandable for children.
All groups did their best and the results were unexpected, each one was different and each had a different approach on how to illustrate the "idea" and the whole story that came with it.
In the end the real picture book was shown.
I knew the text but seeing the illustrations.....I have no words, so extremely beautifully done. A masterpiece.
Next day I ordered the book because it did teach me something as well, it's not just for children. :-)

Fallen in love with it I also ordered " What do you do with a problem" and "What do you do with a chance".
