Spannend! 1. "The Broken Promise" original title: " De Gebroken Belofte" is finished. The manuscript has been edited and is now ready to be send to the publishers. I'm so exited. I still have to finalise the illustrations as the story, after the first review was tweaked and changed quite a lot but I'm very happy with the result. Meet "Pixel" a sneaky little bad tempered chap. 2. I finished the illustrations of my first silent book, which I will send in for the silent book competition 2018. I'm very happy with the result. Will keep my fingers crossed for both projects ;-) Any updated on any result will be published as soon as known. "Sometimes I get to the point of frustration, that I just become silent." Thats what happened to me over the last 6 months. June, July and August have been incredibly busy; getting the Kye4Kids website live, starting a crowdfunding project for my very first chapter book; following up on the editing and illustrations; working on the illustrations for a "silent book" competition; having friends coming over for the holiday season and keep the household up and running. No time to get 'bored" or sit and relax. Although my nerves sometimes got the better of me....I'm very thrilled about the new website: www.kye4kids.com, my chapter book "De Gebroken Belofte" (age 8+) and the proceedings of my silent book. So whats next? Once the editing and illustrations are finalised I go in search of a publisher / agent. The book is written in Dutch but I secretly hope, once it get published, it will be translated into English. Finalising the silent book and starting on a new story of Kye.
But not today! It's finally raining outside! It hasn't rained since May and the average temperature was 33Celsius for the last two months. Today I'm going to do absolutely nothing... I'm going to relax on the couch with a nice cup of tea and reading Hollow City by Ransom Rigg !
Dear friends, I'm currently working on some drafts for our new brand: Kye4Kids foundation. I have some difficulties because on the one hand the image should speak to the imagination of young children on the other it should provide a clear message to parents that the foundation is trustworthy and their support is very important. Happiness multiplies itself if you share it with others. How? I want to share/sell my stories with children that have the fortune to be born at the wealthy side of society. Knowing that their joy in reading my books will help other children, who are not so lucky, to learn to read or be able to express in art. In other words you help children whose future is regarded hopeless by society, to grow up not with faded dreams but with dreams that have come true. I would appreciate if you have any feedback on the drafts: what does speak to you what doesn’t. How about the slogans, do they embody the goal of the foundation or do you have any other suggestion? If you don't want to reply on the blog feel free to send an email to: [email protected]. The first 5 persons will receive a signed print of the final new brand. Even though I’m just on the first step to achieve my final goal, I believe now more then ever that this is something I want to do for the rest of my life. In a certain sense, it's a feeling of bliss.
Guarded, Rigid, sometimes Unpredictable? Hmm, I might agree. But how dare they say I’m Malleable and Petulant? Not to mention Yokelish! Don't they know who I ‘m?
He is Key. He is Young. He is the most Enthralling character of all. She is Brave, Un-bribable, Trustworthy sometimes a little Timid and or Emotional. Whatever she does, she is Resolute and Fair. But most off all Yours forever-lasting friend. People describe me as: Chic, Handsome, a little Aesthetic. Nothing wrong about that is it? I’m Tactful maybe a little Talkative but Yearning for attention? Me? I can assure you that is absolutely ridiculous! Nonsense. |
